The Postgraduate Certificate in Geospatial Data Science (PGCertGDS) programme equips students with a foundational knowledge of geospatial science and technology at postgraduate level. It can be a stepping-stone to a professional master鈥檚 degree or a one year professional qualification.

The programme intersects relevant disciplines such as Data Science, Computer Science, Geography, and Environmental Science with spatial analysis. Students will gain skills in programming, research analysis, database management, geospatial technology, and communication.

Entry requirements

The PGCertGDS requires a bachelor鈥檚 degree with at least a B Grade Point Average in your 300-level courses in an area relevant to geospatial analysis, or equivalent, or three years of professional experience in a related industry.

If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet UC's English language requirements.

The Certificate is comprised of 60 points, including compulsory and elective courses.

The Certificate can be studied full-time within 6 months or part-time within 1 year.

The PGCertGDS includes compulsory courses on spatial analysis technology and programming, and you may choose your final 15 points from a selection of topics such as data management, modelling, communicating data findings, and specific uses of GIS such as within the Health, Forestry, and Natural Resources industries.
