Postgraduate Diploma in Te Reo M膩ori
Introduction
This Diploma provides an introduction to research-based knowledge about te reo M膩ori, emphasising linguistic competence and critical thinking about a number of contemporary aspects of the language.
You will take the advanced language course and three other Te Reo M膩ori courses.
Students who complete the Diploma with Merit or Distinction may transfer to the Master of Te Reo M膩ori.

Entry requirements
Those wishing to enrol in the Postgraduate Diploma in Te Reo M膩ori must have one of the following:
- a bachelor鈥檚 degree with a major in Te Reo M膩ori; or
- any bachelor鈥檚 degree, and have also completed a Graduate Diploma in Arts in Te Reo M膩ori; or
- any bachelor鈥檚 degree, and have relevant professional experience and fluency in Te Reo M膩ori.

How do I plan my diploma?
The course of study for the PGDipTeReo shall comprise courses equivalent to 120 points.
The Diploma can be completed in 1 year full-time, or in up to 4 years part-time.

Further study
You can go on to study a Master of Te Reo M膩ori, or a Bachelor of Arts with Honours, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Te Reo M膩ori.
Subject to approval, you may transfer completed courses from the Diploma (passed with a B Grade Point Average or higher) to the honours or master's programmes.
